Lorenzo Tanzini is a Researcher at the University of Cagliari, where he teaches “History of the Middle Ages” and “Antiquities and Institutions in the Middle Ages”. In 2013, he was awarded the qualification of Professore Associato, and he became a member of the Ph.D Committee of the Ph.D school in Storia, Beni culturali e Studi internazionali at the University of Cagliari.

Tanzini is a member of the Editorial Office and the Editorial Board of the Archivio Storico Italiano. He is a member of the Deputazione di storia patria per la Toscana.
His research efforts are mainly focused on the political and institutional history of Tuscany in the 13th and 15th centuries, as well as on the practices and culture of justice in Late Medieval Italy. Also, he investigates the relationships between trade and justice in Italy and in the territories of the Crown of Aragon.
